What is the minimum age for a West Virginia CDL?

18 with at least one year of driving experience for intrastate work. You must be 21 to drive interstate, carry hazmat, or transport passengers.

How long must I hold a WV CLP before the skills test?

At least 14 days, per federal rule.

How much does a WV CDL cost?

Knowledge tests are $25 (three attempts included). The CDL itself can be up to $61.25 for an 8-year license. Endorsements are $10 each.

Does West Virginia require ELDT?

Yes. First-time CDL applicants and first-time P, S, or H endorsement applicants must complete ELDT from an FMCSA Training Provider Registry provider.
