Massachusetts issues Commercial Driver Licenses (CDLs) through the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV). To get one you study the Massachusetts CDL Manual, pass written knowledge tests for a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP), hold the permit at least 14 days, complete federally required Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT), and pass a road skills test at an RMV-approved location.
