How to Get a Oklahoma CDL
A step-by-step guide to earning your Commercial Driver License in Oklahoma.
- Decide which CDL class you need (A, B, or C).
- Get a DOT medical card from a Certified Medical Examiner.
- Complete federal ELDT theory training through an FMCSA-registered provider.
- Study the Oklahoma CDL handbook.
- Pass the General Knowledge test (and Air Brakes / Combination if applicable).
- Receive your Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP); hold it for at least 14 days.
- Complete ELDT behind-the-wheel training if not already done.
- Schedule and pass the CDL skills test.
